Located neatly beside Swellendam’s historic Drostdy Museum, the old charm 4 star boutique hotel Herberg Roosje van de Kaap dates back to 1790 and provides a balanced mixture of history with modern flair. 

Roosje is ideally located in the oldest, calmest part of Swellendam within walking distance of a variety of shops and the mountains of Marloth Nature Reserve.

This family-friendly hotel boasts 14 beautifully appointed guestrooms and two pools in a lush garden setting with stunning views of the Langeberg mountains. Children of all ages are welcome. 

Restaurant 

At Roosje van de Kaap, the restaurant adds heart and soul to your stay with us and is situated in a converted, historical stable. It is here where breakfast is served and where you can enjoy candlelit à la carte dinners as well. The low reed ceiling, thickly plastered walls and soft candlelight take you back to bygone days of the 19th century, setting the scene for the tastes and flavours to come. From Cape Malay cooking styles to classic French fare, the menu is inspired by the rich history of our beautiful town and region.
