Details

Wild Berry Guest Farm

With a view of Giants Castle (a mountain) and set in enchanting gardens, our Wild Berry Guest Farm is situated about 8 km from Mooi River along the Midlands Meander route and in stunning Drakensberg surroundings. We offer you the perfect place to rest, to revive the spirit and give you new energy. Our attractive and relaxed environment as well as our facilities will meet your needs and ensure excellent value for money.

Our Accommodation

Our unpretentious yet well-appointed facilities provide double rooms and twin accommodation, a family unit and wheelchair-friendly options.  Our en-suite rooms are fitted with fans, panel heaters, verandas and private Braai (barbecue) areas, and all but one of the several cottages is self-catering.

We have extended the property by adding a social centre with TV, games and an honesty bar stocked with drinks and snacks, and an education/conference venue where 20 delegates can be comfortably seated (though our maximum guest capacity is 14 - taking all beds and bunks into account).  A full English breakfast is available on request serving only the best locally produced products with home-made jams and marmalade.

Activities

Come, head for the hills beneath the Giant! Our small, 3 star-rated guest farm is set in typically beautiful Midland’s countryside, along the Giants Castle Road, and 7 km from the turnoff to the N3 highway. The area is particularly rich in indigenous wild bird life, and we share the property with geese, horses, donkeys, rabbits and chickens which enthrall most of our visitors.

Wild Berry offers you the ideal base to discover the local attractions, explore the farm, enjoy a game of chess or have a quiet (romantic) break. Take time to relax and enjoy the country atmosphere filled with tranquillity and typical sounds from the surrounding farming community.

Or visit several internationally renowned attractions in our vicinity. These include the uKhahlamba-Drakensberg Park, which is a World Heritage site, as well as a unique vulture hide, or the crane rescue and breeding sanctuary for all three of the crane species found in Southern Africa. In addition we are only a 20 minutes drive from the start of the historic battlefields and we are also in close proximity to art galleries, crafters, a vineyard, the local brewery and much, much more.
