We are situated 200m from the beach, in the older part of Swakopmund, 1.2 km from the center of town as well as within easy walking distance from many popular restaurants, pubs, local shops and attractions. We also have our own very popular Old Steamer restaurant on the premises.
Our action desk can give you information on activities available at the coast and will book any activity offered in town for you, at no extra cost to you. Feel free to ask any of our office staff and they will be more than happy to assist and keep you entertained with all the things Swakopmund has to offer.
Alte Brucke is very proud of the fact that we have our very own solar plant for power and all geysers are solar or gas powered. We really care about the environment and your health . We also produce some of our own greens and vegetables in our garden.
Our Accommodation
All of our chalets are fully furnished and equipped. You only need to bring your own braai grid and beach towels. Housekeeping services are included in our bed price, but is unfortunately not available on Sundays and public holidays.
Alte Brucke has 36 fully lawned camp sites. Each camp site has its own private bathroom, a built braai, 220V power point and wash basin. Wifi is also available at the camp site.

Activities
Activities at De Hoop Nature Reserve are diverse and guests can choose between various day walks through the rich fynbos plains or along the deserted coastline, or mountain biking along the many gravel roads as well as scenic game drives. Whilst hikers and cyclists have close-up encounters with bonteboks, Cape mountain zebras, eland antelopes, baboons and ostriches, birders observe wading birds on the shores of the vlei. There is also a resident colony of endangered Cape vultures in the Potberg Mountains.
Lazing on the beach and snorkelling in the many turquoise rock pools is simply another way to pass a rewarding day. Day visitors are welcome and our on-site restaurant is open daily.
Drakenzicht Mountain Cottage
Self-catering at the foot of the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Mountains and World Heritage Site, with unsurpasseded views. Our child-friendly farm house, Drakenzicht Mountain Cottage nestles peacefully amid springs and streams, 27km southwest of Winterton and offers a scenic retreat or a fantastic family holiday in the Champagne valley. Our farm house is situated on a breathtaking 50 acres property and has been nestling peacefully at the foot of the Central Berg for more than five decades.
Our Accommodation
Our holiday house Drakenzicht has three guest rooms (2 bedrooms with double beds and one with 2 single beds) and a fourth outside room with two bunkbeds. A sleeper couch in one of the double rooms provides extra sleeping space.
The open plan lounge and dining area has a TV and a satellite dish, with DSTV (satellite television programmes) activated on request.
The farmhouse kitchen is equipped with all the necessary amenities. But the star feature of our self-catering accommodation is the lovely covered verandah which serves as entertainment area, with a generous wooden table seating ten and an equally generous view of the mountainous horizon. The open braai (barbecue) facility on the outskirt of our elevated property shares this sweeping panorama.
Activities
Come tread more than 3km of the cleared trails through our meadows. Benches dot the landscape overlooking a gorge and the valley below, with the mountains Giants Castle, Injasuthi, Champagne Castle and Cleft Peak all in plain view. The bird life in our lush garden is abundant, and vervet monkeys, birds of prey, bushbuck or even the endangered ground hornbill might surprise you on your lazy afternoon stroll.
Our holiday house is perfectly positioned to explore the numerous hiking and mountain bike routes of the Central Drakensberg, as well as its various golf courses and horse riding opportunities.

Eden's Touch
If you are looking for a peaceful, exclusive and fully equipped self-catering accommodation on the beautiful Garden Route, then you are at the right place at Eden's Touch in Harkerville, located between Plettenberg Bay and Knysna.
Our Accommodation
On our guest farm we offer four architect designed chalets and two restored historical clay-brick cottages, where each piece of furniture, fitting and detail has been hand-made by the local community. The chalets are named after indigenous plants and trees, each offering lot sof privacy, tranquillity and magnificent views. Each unit has its own private splash pool. The honeymoon and family chalets are tucked away in a beautiful forest setting. We do have a babysitter upon request.
Activities
There is a short walk down to the forest, keep straight past the sign for Erica Chalet and you will descend into the forest. Once amongst the trees follow the path and cross the stream deep into the extensive forest. Alternatively, explore our forest trails with your own bicycle or mountain bike.
Emdoneni Lodge
Situated on a small game farm, the intimate and comfortable accommodation at Emdoneni Lodge in Hluhluwe comes in the form of chalets and rondavels, on a dinner / bed and breakfast basis or bed & breakfast only, allowing you to sample the delights of true South African hospitality and cuisine. Join us for drinks around the fire, at the boma or on the sundowner deck.
Conservation Project
It is impossible to run out of things to do in this little slice of wilderness heaven. Some of the activities at our Emdoneni Lodge include visiting the Zululand Cat Conservation Project. Join us for an up close and personal, educational tour and learn more about South Africa’s endangered wild cat species such as the caracal (lynx), serval or cheetah. There will be also plenty of photographic opportunities. If you require someone to look after the kids whilst you enjoy the activities, then we offer a children’s program too.
Weddings
If you have ever dreamt of a true African wedding, walking down a grassy aisle with African wildlife grazing in the background and organized by a highly experienced and knowledgable wedding co-ordinator, then Emdoneni Lodge is the place to tie the knot. For added convenience, it is just a short walk from the aisle at the ceremony to your reception and to our comfortable accommodation options. We can advise or facilitate the appointment and management of many services, ranging from priests, music, flowers, decor, printing and many others, along with leisure activities for your guests.
Our ethnic, intimate African Boma venue is perfect for the bridal couple seeking something a little less western and can seat up to 70 guests.
Enchanted Garden
At the foot of scenic Chapman's Peak drive, our self-catering accommodation, Enchanted Garden, is situated on a two acre property in Noordhoek which is Cape Town’s rural treasure and has a delightful village atmosphere; the ambience is tranquil and serene, with plenty of wide open spaces, a magnificent 7 kilometre stretch of unique beach and breathtaking scenery. Despite its country atmosphere, Noordhoek has a lot to offer, including restaurants, a shopping mall, horse riding, whale watching, hiking trails, surfing, bird watching, wine tasting, plus nearby golf courses and a penguin colony.
Our property boasts an entirely indigenous garden incorporating a wide variety of protea species. Here you have a sensational sweeping view of the mountains, the valley and the sea. There are two swimming pools and an enclosed braai (barbecue) area for you to enjoy.
Our Accommodation
Both our two self-catering units, a chalet and a cottage, border on Table Mountain National Park. It is a common occurrence to observe fish eagles, hawks, jackal Buzzards, owls and mongoose. A variety of hens, geese and guinea fowl roam all over the property. You will also find yourself in the company of three miniature horses, two Daschunds and the pig Penelope. There is a koi pond, as well as a large duck pond.
A wooden staircase leads to your luxurious chalet with a private deck. This chalet consists of a lounge/dining room with an open-plan fully equipped kitchen. The main bedroom and the second bedroom each have their own bathroom and a king-size bed (or twin beds).
Our wheelchair-friendly cottage is secluded and intimate, with a private verandah as well as a garden and consists of a lounge/open-plan, fully equipped kitchen and one bedroom with king-size bed (or twin beds) with an en-suite bathroom.
There is full satellite TV with own decoders and more than 40 channels, as well as a lock-up safe in each bedroom and an ironing board with iron in both holiday units. A fully automatic washing machine is available for the exclusive use of guests.
Etusis Lodge
Welcome to the jewel of the Otjipatera Mountains. The Etusis Lodge is a small oasis in the heart of our nature reserve. A row of grass-covered buildings built with natural stone from Etusis is your retreat after a long journey or the day's excursions.

The homely Etusis Lodge is situated in a beautiful private game reserve 40 km from Karibib and offers a choice of accommodation ranging from camping and self-catering to private bungalows with half board, some of which are wheelchair-accessible.
Relax at the pool to the sounds of nature or enjoy many activities, e.g. horse riding, game drives or nature walks.
Our Facilities
At the heart of the property is our restaurant and main building with the bar under a camel thorn tree. A sundowner has never tasted better - when you step out onto the terrace, you can enjoy the view of our embankment with the small waterhole, which is frequented by kudus, zebras and baboons. Behind it rises the Etusis marble mountains and the mighty Otjipatera massif.
Our grass roof bungalows are spread around our pool. A wonderful opportunity to cool off, especially during the warm lunchtime. A table tennis table offers further variety. Our small museum with artifacts from Etusis and the surrounding area from nature or history invites you to visit and also serves as a room for conferences.
We have a lot to offer - don't just come for one night but rather stay with us for two, or even better, three nights, giving you the chance to really experience Etusis and pursue various activities. To travel the 17km from the C32 only for one night in our - admittedly very beautiful - bungalows would be a shame.

Restaurant
Our tastefully furnished, fully licensed bar lounge and 80-seater restaurant are equipped to cater to every gastronomic need. We serve a delicious buffet breakfast as well as a scrumptious dinner or buffet, and offer a menu that never fails to impress, often featuring unusual dishes. Alongside the restaurant is a partially covered pool-deck where you can enjoy refreshing cocktails. In the evening indulge in African cuisine al-fresco, around a bush fire in our Boma while listening to the nocturnal sounds of the wildlife around you.
Hudup Camp Site
The small and cosy Hudup Camp Site is located on the C19, 15km east of the little town of Maltahoehe and offers camping in the bush or on the Hudup River banks as well as self-catering.
Accommodation
Choose between 7 campsites and 2 self-catering chalets, each sleeping two people. The two solar-powered bungalows are fully equipped.
Activities
Wander along the river banks. Over 100 different bird species have been sighted making this a Mecca for bird lovers. Alternatively, join us on a round trip in a 4x4, with the highlight of visiting the lesser known Bushman’s Canyon - pre-booking is essential. Short walking trails around the camp can be done on your own, for example to the old ruins of the first owners on the southern hillslopes. Wander to the East along the river bed where you could come across some of the wild animals of the area, e.g. baboons, springbucks, kudus and jackals.
We also offer a guided hiking trail to the lesser known Hudup Canyon - locally known as Bushman's Kloof. Pre-booking is essential. Even here you find the remains of the first settlers of the region. A pond with a man-handled pump can be viewed as well as stone building remains of the settlers. Some steep climbing is necessary.
On special request we also offer sightseeing tours over the adjacent farm which gives you an insight into the local farming business and on a 3 to 4 hour excursion you may also visit the Hudup Canyon, the Rock-Bridge as well as other areas of the farm. Please arrange with your camp booking as the farm activities do not always correspond with the guest activities.
Indalu Game Lodge
Join us for a memorable vacation on the Garden Route at our stunning Indalu Game Reserve and lodge, located just 20km from Albertinia and 30km from Mossel Bay in the Western Cape, South Africa. Our game lodge is situated only a few kilometres from the magnificent coastline in one of the best adventure holiday destinations in the world. Jet in with a private craft to the Mossel Bay airfield or journey on from the George airport which is 70 km away, and you can reach the Cape Town International Airport on an easy 3.5 hours drive.
Safari Accommodation
For the discerning visitors who want to prolong their stay at Indalu, there are luxury chalets on the banks of the river with personalised service and a fully equipped central kitchen for self-catering and outside lapa area. Dinner and breakfast are available as optional extras.

Kaoxa Bush Camp

The area (Limpopo Valley) is an ancient, arid (dry) unspoilt part of Africa. Kaoxa Bush Camp is in the Limpopo-Shashi confluence area near the boundaries of Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa. The Limpopo Valley is known for its majestic Baobab trees. Kaoxa Bush Camp comprises 3 intimate cottages built with stone and thatch and 3 Safari tents, all with en-suite bathrooms. They open onto your personal deck overlooking an extraordinary vista.
Information displayed in the camp about the inhabitants of the bushveld, and remains from the Bushman culture will enrich your stay with us.
The new Mapungubwe National Park is also on our doorstep just a 10-minute drive to the main entrance.
Our Accommodation

The Farmhouse Kaoxa is a beautiful place to unwind with friends and family in the African bush in the midst of the Koppies (rocky hills), surrounded by Kalahari-sand and ancient Baobab trees. Elephants roam freely.
Our thatch cottage has open ended eaves to allow air circulation. There are two beds with their own mosquito nets, separated by a chest of drawers. Electric lamps give subtle yellow insect- free lighting. A ceiling fan ensures air circulation and there is an electric plug socket. The back of the cottage has a basin, shower and toilet that are separated from the sleeping area by a ‘half wall’. Large picture windows help bring the stunning African views into the room. Outside is a 2×5 m elevated wooden deck, where you can relax and watch game. Each unit is far enough away from its neighbour to ensure privacy.
Our safari tents are covered by a separate roof for shading and weather protection. Each tent has a basin and shower with a separate lockable toilet. The sleeping area has two beds resting on a built-in ground sheet and separated by a chest of drawers. Windows and doors are all netted. Subtle electric lamps set the mood, and there is an electric socket. You can view the gorgeous views from a stone and cement verandah . Adjacent to this is a small barbecue, should you prefer to prepare your own food rather than using the communal area in the boma.

Accommodation
Rhino River Lodge offers three types of accommodation to suit our guests’ various needs. Guests can choose from double en-suite luxury rooms, family chalets or one of our two-bedroom private safari homes (the Cottage and the Homestead). The camp accommodates a maximum of 24 people at any time. Our game lodge grounds sprawl through an area of thick riverine vegetation, rich with bird and animal life, and filled with magnificent fig and fever trees. The grounds include the reception with curio shop, a swimming pool, a dining room with bar and a guest lounge. Wi-Fi is also available.
Safari Activities
We have become one of the premier wildlife viewing destinations in Kwa-Zulu Natal and feature beautiful varied landscapes from acacia thornveld to open savannah and riverine forest. Game drives are regulated by the reserve and coordinated by ecotourism businesses to minimize the impact on the environment and the wildlife and to provide guests a better and more intimate game viewing experience.
While on a guided safari at Rhino River Lodge you will have the opportunity to not only see the Big 5 - rhino, elephant, buffalo, leopard and lion, but also cheetahs, wild dogs and much more game. Your day will begin just before the sun rises as guests meet up at the main lodge area for a cup of coffee or tea and freshly baked muffin before the three hour morning game drive begins at first light, which includes a midway coffee/tea break.
Upon returning to camp, enjoy a full English-style breakfast. After breakfast the day is yours to relax and at approximately 1:30 a light lunch will be served. The afternoon game drive begins about 2.5 hours before sunset. Just before sunset the game drive vehicle will stop for a special safari tradition, the sundowner. As the sun sets, take in the air, sights and sounds of the African bush while having a refreshing beverage. The drive will continue on for a short while after the sun sets, in search of the more rarely observed nocturnal animals.
Back at camp, a hearty three-course dinner is served, weather-permitting, under the stars around the campfire under the stars. After dinner, you are welcome to join us around the campfire for a night cap.
