Based in Chipata, our owner-managed tour operator, Absolute Zambia Safaris, specializes in bespoke and private guided tours and safaris in Zambia and travels in Southern Africa, including Botswana, Malawi, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe, also off the beaten track. 

We have founded the company after extensive travels throughout our beautiful country Zambia and grew our passion for Zambia and Africa through multiple visits from various African countries, and would like to share our passion and experience with you.

iGowati Day Tours 

The iGowati day trips are organized by the reception of the iGowati Country Hotel in the small town of Khorixas. Experience the highlights of the area with them: The petroglyphs of Twyvelfontein, the Vingerklip and the myth-enshrouded White Lady.

They also offer overnight trips for small groups to remote places in Damaraland. Go looking for elephants or just camp under the stars.

Our Tours

Visit Twyfelfontein with its rock engravings, the Burned Mountain, the Petrified Forest and the Organ Pipes. We leave early each morning in an air-conditioned 4 x 4 Landrover and visit all these sites. We arrive back at iGowati Country Hotel in the late afternoon in time for a nap and then dinner.

See some of the most spectacular scenery in Namibia and the rock finger a sole remnant of an ancient Plato. Have lunch at the Rock finger lodge and enjoy your drive back at a leisurely pace. For this trip we leave at midmorning and return after lunch.

We visit a working himba village farm near Kamanjab. Learn some interesting facts about the Himba people and their way of life. For this trip we leave early in the morning and return late afternoon. Vehicle, guide/driver, lunch packs and soft drinks included.

A trip through the desolated area at the Skeleton Coast Park. Visit some of the old shipwrecks and have a picnic lunch on the way.

Visit the White Lady rock engraving at Brand Berg near Uis. The Brand Berg is the highest mountain in Namibia. Have lunch at the White Lady restaurant. We leave in the morning and return in the afternoon.

This has to be pre-booked to ensure that we are able to arrange it. A trip through the town of Khorixas the way the Damara people travel. We visit the town and have a drink at a local shebeen (bar) taste some of the local specialities like mopanie worm and interact with the Damara people, before returning to iGowati Country Hotel.

Ocean Blue Adventures 

Situated on South Africa's renowned Garden Route coastline, our Ocean Blue Adventures team provides visitors to Plettenberg Bay with the opportunity to sample the finest the bay has to offer, whether you are interested in the abundant marine life, magnificent scenery or the lifestyle of the locals. Our qualified and experienced staff of skippers and guides are ready to assist you to make the most of your visit to this very special area of the country, courtesy of their enthusiasm for and understanding of their subjects, which demonstrates our commitment for the community. 

Our Activities 

Join our permitted marine excursions with a specialist permit, and have an extraordinary intimate and up-close experience with several whale species (seasonal), dolphins, seals and a variety of birds or sharks as well as pelagic fish on one of our boat-based ocean safaris which take 1.5 to 2 hours and depart four times daily. 

Also, join us for a guided hike in the coastal Robberg Nature Reserve and afterwards stretch your legs on the beach of this stunning peninsula, where the rich fauna, flora and beautiful scenery will take your breath away in more ways than one.

At a more leisurely pace, take a cultural tour with one of our resident guides, stop by our creche, at a local church service or watch the youngsters practice their musical skills. 

Conservation Based Tourism 

Ocean Blue Adventures is a pioneering organisation in South Africa conducting professional conservation orientated whale and dolphin marine eco-tours. In cooperation with the Qolweni Community Development Trust the emphasis of all our operations is placed on conservation through community development, education and research. We aim to give a holistic real marine experience to all our guests aimed at raising awareness of marine mammal conservation and the direct need to realistically conserve our oceans.

Based in Livingstone, our Savannah Southern Safaris is a family-owned Zambian tour operator who offers professional, guided multi day packages, including accommodation, or sightseeing and day tours in Livingstone, combining leisure, social and environmental awareness. 

Our Tours 

Choose between a wide range of nature walks with birding and game watching or visits to local community projects with community interactions, either as single tours or in full packages. 

Walking safaris through the Musi-Ou-Tunya National Park and surrounding areas are suitable for active and adventurous participants. This national park hosts one of the seven natural wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Shungunamutitima Falls, commonly known as the Victoria Falls. Through our guides find the best spots and trails for your photos, immerse yourself in the beauty of nature by following the path down to the boiling pot and see for yourself the story, history and information about these mighty falls. 

Birding 

We will provide birders exclusive tours within the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park and the surrounding areas. This park prides itself of at least 450 or more bird species, most of which are resident and can be seen all year round. Migrating birds set in around November/December while some waders may come in as early as August. 

Cultural Tours 

Visit a local community. Dance and sing with children from a community school; see how traditional mud houses are constructed; play a round of soccer or share some other experiences with Livingstone’s community. These tours either lead you to local community projects or to orphanages. Many travellers only get to see village life from their vehicle’s windows. We can take you into the heart of villages where you will be introduced to the village chief or chieftainess and where you can experience their day to day life. 

Experience vibrant Livingstone, whilst our local guides keep your special interests in mind. All guides are trained by Savannah Southern Safaris and can be hired on a half-day or full-day basis. They will join you and be there for you with information about the best sites, places, attractions and activities.
