Cairnbrogie MTB & Trail Park

Cairnbrogie MTB & Trail Park

Covering over 100 ha of coastal fynbos along South Africa's spectacular Garden Route, Cairnbrogie MTB & Trail Park is a natural playground for the fitness fanatic, mountain bike junkie or even a family looking for some time in the great outdoors. Cairnbrogie has it all, from forests to coastal cliffs and secret coves, tracks and trails, sporting events and a great venue as well as a cafe and even a dairy.

Here you've got way more than just a farm - This is a destination.

Our Activities

Cairnbrogie is blessed with a large area in which to develop MTB (mountainbiking) trails. Our aim is to provide intermediate skill riding for young riders. The learning of basic bike control skills will be a focus of the trails. Older more experienced riders can enjoy remarkable scenery on their way to the well know SANPARKS and Cape Pine MTB trails. Our kid friendly routes are the 1.3 km, a 2.6 km and a 4 km. The 11 km is not so kid friendly as it is long, but not difficult. It passes through some of the most spectacular scenery on the Garden Route.

Pump tracks are extremely popular among a multitude of riders and at Cairnbrogie we offer children and older riders a safe environment to be active on. The tracks feature a series of bumps/rollers that allow riders to use their momentum in order to gain speed and carry momentum. It is great fun so bring your bike, scooters, push bikes etc. and join us at the Cairnbrogie Pump Track.

With over 18km of walking trails within the Robberg Coastal Corridor plus exclusive access to the Cairnbrogie beaches, the Cairnbrogie estate has stunning routes for all fitness levels.

Bring your rods and at your own speed while away the day fishing for bass in the idyllic dam on the edge of the Cairnbrogie pine forest. Catch and release only.

There are also 4 dog walking routes of varying distances for you and your furry best friends to wander in peace and quiet. We absolutely love dogs but as a working farm and established mountainbiking trail park there are strict regulations in place for dog walkers. Dogs must be on leads at all times and the Coastal Route is an absolute no go area for dog walkers.

Cairnbrogie is a birders paradise and a popular venue for local Garden Route birding clubs. Take a seat at one of our dams or a slow stroll through the forest or fynbos laden coastal paths. Don’t forget to tag us in your posts if you spot something special - We would love to know and add to our growing list of sightings. Should you wish to enter Cairnbrogie out of our regular opening hours for a special sighting, please get in touch with us in order to arrange.

Kosi Forest Lodge is accessible by 4x4 vehicle only. Guests who are NOT travelling in a 4x4 vehicle should meet a representative from Kosi Forest Lodge nearby on prior arrangement. Guests will follow our representative to a secure parking area in the town where they will leave their vehicle. They will then be transferred in an open 4x4 vehicle to Kosi Forest Lodge.

Montusi Mountain Lodge

Montusi Mountain Lodge

Come discover space, luxury and tranquillity when you visit Montusi Mountain Lodge, our accommodation in the Northern Drakensberg. Witness the natural splendour and romantic ambience of this mountain haven.

Situated midway between Johannesburg and Durban, our child-friendly lodge is one of the few destinations with a panoramic vista of the Drakensberg's most famous feature, the Amphitheatre escarpment.

Established in June 2000 by the Carte family, Montusi Mountain Lodge has created a unique opportunity for you to indulge in the freedom of the wild Drakensberg experience. It is the perfect place to simply wind down and enjoy our little bit of paradise while recharging your batteries, or getting involved with some of the activities.

Our Accommodation

We boast 16 beautifully appointed suites set in open gardens each with panoramic views of the dramatic Amphitheatre cliff face and surrounding mountains. All the suites are equipped with tea and coffee making facilities as well as a bar fridge. A minibar facility in the suite is available upon request.

Our comfortably ambient restaurant with log fireplace is renowned for much praised, sumptuous local cuisine with innovative menus. In summer we dine outside on the Phumleni with the Amphitheatre view enchanting our guests while you enjoy delicious meals. Dinners are a three-course meal served in the dining room at the main lodge.

Our Activities

The art of doing nothing is a sought after pastime which can be enjoyed at our Montusi Mountain Lodge. There is no pressure and no wake-up calls (no telephone in the room). Join us and enjoy the beautiful Drakensberg mountains from our luxury setting where you can be as active or relaxed as you choose.

The outdoor activities offered range from horse riding, hiking, birding, swimming, fishing, mountain biking and trail running to tennis and full moon walks. Alternatively relax by doing yoga or enjoying a massage, an hour or two of complete bliss await.

We believe that preservation is an integral part of conservation in the Northern Drakensberg. With this in mind, over the last 10 years invasive wattle trees have been eradicated from Montusi and the area rehabilitated by planting indigenous trees. This effort has culminated in the indigenous forests, and resultant indigenous birdlife, flourishing. Additionally, this has seen the return of mountain reedbuck, Vaal rhebuck, bushbuck and the elusive eland that have begun to populate this area once inhabited by the cultural group of the San.

Sandwich Harbour 4x4

Sandwich Harbour 4x4

Scenic Sandwich Harbour is part of the Namib Naukluft Park and a place many have heard of but very few have ever visited. We get you there! Based in Walvis Bay, Our Sandwich Harbour 4x4 is the leading day tour operator in the Namib Desert south of town and Sandwich Harbour. Join us on our exciting excursions and outdoor adventures.

Giant sand dunes run straight into the ocean creating breathtaking sceneries and unique landscapes, just waiting to be discovered by you!

Once a commercial fishing and trading port, Sandwich Harbour is now a RAMSAR site (No. 743 - one of 5 sites in Namibia) with magnificent wetland wilderness as well as devoid of any human settlement, and one of Namibia’s most unique and dramatic sites. Situated a little less than 60 km south of Walvis Bay in the Namib-Naukluft National Park, here some of the world’s highest dunes descent into the Atlantic Ocean to form a picturesque lagoon. The lagoon, salt pans and the bird sanctuary, which form the Walvis Bay Wetlands, are rightly heralded as the single most important coastal wetlands of Southern Africa.

Wedged between the sea and the Namib Dunes, Sandwich Harbour is home to eight endangered species among the large numbers of wading birds.

Early evidence of human life is preserved, and the site includes several archaeological sites dating back thousands of years.
