Desert Air 

This fully licensed Namibian-based air charter company has over two decades of experience in the professional flying industry and offers private fly-in safaris in Namibia and Southern Africa, luxury guided flights, fun-filled scenic day trips, corporate flights as well as emergency evacuation services if required. Our fully licensed flight school trains our aircrew to the highest standards and offers pilot training to the public. 

Desert Air operates strictly according to the regulations of Namibia's Civil Aviation Authority and specialises in personalised tailor-made aviation services. We work to high safety standards and adhere to all multinational standards by external and internal safety- and quality-assurance audits. 

Scenic Flights 

Experience Sossusvlei and its surrounding wonders from the sky. Desert Air owns and operates a well-maintained 5-seater Cessna 206/210 single engine aircraft permanently based on the Sossusvlei Lodge property along with an experienced pilot who also doubles as a trained "aerial" desert guide. Each passenger has a window seat for great photographic opportunities.

None of the scenic flights have fixed scheduled times. All flights to the coast (Route 2 and 3) are suggested to be done in the late afternoon for sunset. 

Day Activities 

These activities range from cultural Himba tours or a day stop at the rock engravings and paintings of Twyfelfontein to excursions to Kolmanskop, The Burnt Mountain and The Organ Pipes, accompanied by a resident guide.

Flight School 

With generations of experience in aviation, we pride ourselves with an extensive flight training program with a wide variety of courses. Our exclusive training program offers a one-on-one teaching with a clear focus on safety and discipline. The Private Pilot License (PPL) is the take-off to your career in aviation, or the gateway to recreational flying. A PPL allows you to fly for fun, as a hobby or to train further to become a commercial or airline pilot. Training can be done on a full-time or a part-time basis.
