Mseni Beach Lodge

Situated in Sodwana Bay, our Mseni Beach Lodge is your place of happiness, where laughter and joy resounds! Here at Mseni, we aim to provide friendly service and an excellent experience to complement our awesome ocean views.

Our Accommodation

We offer a choice of comfortable and modern self-catering or bed & breakfast cottages, as well as a lovely beach house which are all nestled among beautiful indigenous bush, which forms part of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park - a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The cottages were planned, so as not to disturb the lush dune forest and most are tucked away among unspoilt surrounds.

Each accommodation has a master bedroom with double or twin beds and en-suite bathroom. Our self-catering family cottages include a small kitchenette, fridge/freezer combination and an outside barbecue area.

Our lovely beach house comfortably sleeps 10 people and is ideal for larger families or groups. The large open-plan entertainment area with a fully equipped kitchen overlooks the ocean.

The pool area is ideally situated to make the most of our beautiful Zululand sunsets, while you relax on a pool lounger and enjoy the view over the park surrounds. An enchanting walkway leads down to one of the most breathtakingly beautiful and secluded sandy beaches, on South Africa’s pristine coastline. This is also a great spot for the keen angler who enjoys rock and surf fishing. Watching the sunrise here is an amazing start to your day.

Regular sightings of dolphins or seasonal whale watching from our restaurant deck between June and October is a highlight and an added bonus to the great food and warm, friendly service you will experience with us. Breakfast is served daily until 11h00, while an à la carte menu is available throughout the day for lunch and dinner at our restaurant with bar. Choose from an array of all-time favourite dishes, South African specialities and delicious desserts. Vegan options are also available.

Rated amongst the top 10 scuba diving spots in the world, Sodwana Bay’s pristine reefs offer colourful experiences in the warm ocean, with huge species diversity. We are privileged to have the most southerly coral reefs in Africa right on our doorstep, thanks to the warm water brought from the tropics by the Agulhas current.

Mseni guests have the opportunity to experience the Sodwana Bay Marine Reserve on a scuba dive. Whether you are an experienced diver, or keen to try it out or qualify, we are happy to assist you and provide complimentary transport for your scuba diving activities. If you have never tried scuba diving, or wish to do a course, our sister company Coral Divers is a PADI 5 Star dive centre and offers a range of recreational dive courses to suit your holiday dates. Simply request to add your course to your booking.

If scuba diving is not for you, why not try snorkelling in our stunning rock pools, which the whole family can enjoy during low tide? You will find various critters hiding out, including many juvenile fish species. Equipment may be rented for the day from the beach shop on the main beach.

If you are looking for something different, why not try one of the outsourced activities which you can book at our reception. Popular are deep-sea fishing, seasonal turtle tours, microlighting, walks around the area or trips to the nearby lakes.
