Mediterranean Villa 

A warm welcome to our Mediterranean Villa in Cape Town, your perfect starting point to discover the many attractions of the Mother City. This gracious historic Victorian villa was built in 1902 and has been operating as a guesthouse in Tamboerskloof for nearly 20 years. Located in this tranquil and picturesque suburb, our "Med Villa", as it is known amongs friends, is away from the hustle and bustle of the city, yet only a short walk to excellent restaurants and Cape Town's vibrant nightlife. 

Our Accommodation 

Choose one of our 10 guest units - a one-bedroom suite, a single room and 8 guest rooms with either a queen-size or a king-size bed. Whether it is for a single traveller, a couple, for friends or families, we have a room for every budget and occasion. 

All our units offer luxurious comfort, including modern en-suite bathrooms, and are as individual as our guests. With attention to detail, they are all individually decorated with locally sourced items as well as inspired by local artists and materials. 

Our Facilities & Services 

While the courtyard invites for a lazy afternoon with coffee and cake, after a day filled with activities and excitement, unwind with a refreshing glass of wine in our lush tropical garden or indulge in a revitalizing swim in our extensive salt water pool where evenings are particularly stunning when the sky hits all colors of the rainbow. 

After a scrumptious breakfast, it is time to explore the captivating sights of Cape Town where the natural world, museums, creative pursuits, lifestyle choices and delicious cuisine blend seamlessly. 

Explore numerous hiking paths, take a leisurely stroll along the beach or Sea Point promenade, spot penguins at Boulders Beach or take in the breathtaking vistas from the summit of Table Mountain. For the more adventurous, try paragliding over the city, learning to surf in Muizenberg or Blouberg Beach or go great white shark cage diving in Gaansbaai. 

In June 2023, your hosts - German-speaking Andrea Schmidt and Henry Voss - had the opportunity to take over the management of the Mediterranean Villa. With decades of experience in hospitality, we both are dedicated to providing exceptional, service-oriented experiences that will touch your life. Henry's passion is cooking and entertaining, ensuring that you have a good time. He will whip up the most delicious meals. Andreas' passion for decorating and gardening, and her keen eye for small things have increased the inviting, cozy interior of the guesthouse.

As we love good food, a great hike, spending days in nature, indulging in the local art and strolling through markets, we have a vast knowledge of what's hot in town and gladly help you to pick and reserve the activities that'll make you happy.
