Alawi Boutique Hotel

Alawi Boutique Hotel

Alawi Boutique Hotel offers the feature of staying in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere, pay attention to the details, on one of the most beautiful beaches of Kenya.

Five rooms available to our guests, tastefully furnished in the typical coastal style (Lamu Style) and equipped with all comforts to satisfy every relaxation requirements as well as business. The staff of ALAWI Boutique Hotel will welcome you in the magical atmosphere of the Swahili Coast.

The Legend of Alawi

The ALAWI name comes from the legend of a rich and famous merchant in the 18th century, Sheikh Alawi, that on his many business trips between the Gulf of Aden and the Coast of Kenya, staying inside the reef, in the warm, calm waters of the coast, he met, fell in love and married a beautiful native girl with the exotic name of Kaskazi (Typical monsoon wind name of the East African Coast). She was daughter of humble local fisherman. It has been so great the love for Kaskazi that Alawi, which unlike normal social custom of polygamy, married and lived all his life with only her.

From the marriage four male children were born, and in honor of the beautiful, beloved wife, they were called by names of typical coastal winds, “Shuta, Jamba, Maliza, Kuzi”.

Legend has it that all the children became great merchants and navigators, by virtue of the teachings given by their parents and to honor their names. The legend does not tell much more, but it is enough to recognize what we all would like for ourselves, happiness, love, devotion to work.

Its in this kind of spirit and in the memory of a romantic legend and by the happy ending and a good omen, that we wanted to call our Boutique Hotel, just as Sheikh Alawi (in ancient Arabic means Heavenly) named their children. Therefore, we named the rooms Kaskazi after his wife and the four beloved children, Shuta, Jamba, Maliza, Kuzi.

This is what we want to wish to all our guests.

For comfort, convenience and information networking, our Mountain View International Hotel by Bon Hotels is the preferred choice of hotels in Mbabane. eSwatini’s most personal hotel is a professional, yet family run accommodation establishment and situated only three kilometres from the city centre.

Our Accommodation

The Mountain View offers superb cuisine in both its on-site restaurant with a bar as well as satellite television in all guest rooms, free Wi-Fi and secure parking as well as fully equipped meeting and conference facilities. All this is incorporated into breathtaking views embracing the space and grandeur of Ezulwini Valley - the valley of heaven.

The rooms are set in a garden environment. Peaceful and safely away from the hustle and bustle of the world, all of the 52 air-conditioned rooms offer amazing views of the magnificent Ezulwini Valley as well.

Activities

We also offer birding excursions and many hiking trails. By arrangement we have access to golf courses, mountain biking trails, game drives, horse riding and a cultural village. The owners, management and reception staff are qualified to advise and assist guests in experiencing all that eSwatini (previously Swaziland) has to offer.
